Does anyone have any experience with this food? I've just started feeding the rabbit version to my cat with allergies. She was on ZiwiPeak venison. After 3 days she has no ill effects from the transition. No loose stool and in fact she is improving from problems she experienced with her Ziwipeak. I believe it is made by Lotus. I am also trying Addiction rabbit. They look very similar but the Addiction has blueberries and sweet potato. Hound and Gatos is just meat, comes in rabbit, beef, pheasant, etc.

I wanted to try this, but it has brewer's yeast in it :(

Does anyone know who cans it?

It is supposed to be canned by Lotus, here is the source for that info

My cat has IBD and cannot eat additives like carageenan but brewer's yeast has never been a problem for her in food.

Tried the Pheasant, Rabbit, Beef, and Salmon.  Indoor (picky) cats shunned all.  Outdoor ferals were fine with them - not *thrilled*, but fine.  Rabbit and Pheasant are very "wet" with more liquid than you would expect in a pate style food.

I think they have changed their recipe.  I originally rejected this food because it had Brewer's Yeast in it, one of Bella's allergens.  I brought home a can for the maus to try, and the ingredients list no longer has Brewer's Yeast in it.  Bella loved it and cleaned out all the bowls.  (I'm pretty sure that at this point, she'll devour any chicken based food.)

oh good, maybe I'll give it another try.  My guys were not impressed the first time around...

I just bought a can of the "beef" for the boys to try.  It seems like it should be a great food....time will tell.  I hope they like it since I have been feeding Addiction for a long time....but it won't be available in Canada much longer....unless we get a new distributor.

We tried the pork - no one liked it. :(  I thought it would help the ferals over the winter because it was high fat, but they rejected it, too.

Haven't tried any of the other flavors due to allergies (one allergic to rabbit, one to chicken, one to salmon, etc.)

Like many foods, my cats loved it for about a week, then snubbed it LOL  As far as I know, it's still a pretty good food, though.

Ah, I see.  Okay, thanks.  I'm only able to order a case of it so I think I'll hold off.

I tried the lamb today and when I opened the can and scooped some out it had a horrible looking dark discoloration on the bottom (where it was in contact with the bottom of the can). It was really gross looking and with Smoggy being sick I didn't want to risk feeding it so I took some pics and threw it away.

The dark part was the part touching the bottom of the can. When I first opened the can it looked fine, but when I spooned some out this is what I saw.

The entire bottom of the can was a gross dark color.

UGH! I would most definitely share these photos with the manufacturer. Don't know this particular brand, but maybe they will look into it (as opposed to giving you some BS story). Glad you had the presence of mind to not feed it! Too many of us learned the hard way about the PFI.

Mandycat

That is very nasty looking!  I do think you should let the manufacturer know about this.
