JustMe - I don't know if you want to add my name to the vomit list (or I may have just missed it), but I had a few cats projectile vomit their Wellness several times back when Tbobina reported hers throwing up.  Also food refusals.  I think it was in Dec, right after her post.

I had sporadic vomit twice, around the time Petslave mentioned - or a litle before.  But it was not projectile.  Baby Girl never vonits anything (and she's approaching the RF stage due to age - she will even eat canned felidae).

I am beginning to wonder if:

a) Menu Foods is still canning the foods - and letting QC suffer due to the settlement.

b) If they have switched the cannery for the food (especially turkey products), and this new place is sounding like they have the QC of Evanger's (not at all proposing they are canning at Evanger's).

c)  With the push for higher production to start selling at Petco,  they ran out of Turkey?

Karen good questions. I use the wellness grain free for my dog for the past few months. Have not noticed a difference in the consistency and I feed the chicken, turkey and sometimes beef. Hopefully its not a quality control issue but glad others are aware of the consistency of the canned cat food made for Wellness.
May your troubles be less,
Your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness

Thanks, Petslave!  I fixed it.

Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Karen,

Did you jot down the best buy date on those cans (so I can add to our list)?

Nope, it was only twice for one cat, and once for another, they continued to eat after vomiting.  We weren't monitoring at the time, sorry.

I created  a monster Geisha now will only eat Chicken/Herring Wellness, now snubs plain Chicken after a lick or two will not touch Turkey/Salmon.  My big girl Topaz will eat all 3 she is such the good girl, notice she was the feral one.   :P

I think that's what's happening here too. It seemed they were tiring of the Turkey, so I bought a few cans of other flavors to try on them. Once they got a taste of the Chicken & Herring they would have nothing to do with any of the others.  ::)

Currently using the following Wellness lots with no problems (all 3 oz cans):

Chicken and Herring  26 Sept 10  7WCHC1 1640

Chicken  02 Oct 10  7WCCC1 1459

Turkey  02 Oct 10 7WTKC1  0322

You all think you have it bad? My cats will now only eat the chicken & herring...in the 5.5 oz cans. They'll nibble abit at other flavors and sizes, but only really like the c & h and the consistency of the 5.5 oz-ers. Cats are so strange. ::)

Welcome to the club, mine will only eat the c/h and if it is refrigerated I have to nuke it.................................and sometimes even then they refuse it and want Solid Gold  blend Tuna which they do not like the chunks and and leave those in the bowl after they lick up all the other food in the bowl break up the chunks as much as possible but mine are not chewers I guess, I am a short order cook for my cats.

Mine show a definite preference for the Wellness from the 3 oz cans, rather than the 5.5.  They pick at or refuse almost all 5.5 oz, but consistently slurp up the 3 oz of the same flavors.  You guys are lucky that yours accept the bigger cans--it's much cheaper per ounce that way.

And most of my cats will never accept food that has been refrigerated.  I even have to warm up their homemade just to the perfect temperature.  And they absolutely will not eat leftover food, even when I store it in the refrigerator in a nice covered glass dish for a few hours.  They want their canned food perfectly fresh, just opened.

They are also going through withdrawal because I cut them off from the beef flavors, because I was concerned about BSE.  Beef and chicken was the hands-down favorite here.

Picky little buggers.

Catbird,

They are too funny I had to heat up the chicken breast pieces for them or they would not eat those either.  Mine would probably prefer 3 oz all the time to but lets see 99 cents for that size or 1.19 for 5.5 oz,  I think feeding them chicken was cheaper LOL

Very little goop on top.  Tightly packed,  About 1/8 in from top of can.  All ate well, no vomit (seem hungry for more  ;) )

This batch is very impressive (maybe for the rollout at Petco) - must be the best pate style I've ever seen.  Hopefully, the ingredients are full integrity (there I go again  ::) )

So is Wellness in Petco already? Is there a difference in price from the small stores?

It's still closer for me to get it from the small pet supply/feed store, but I usually have to make sure they order it, as they don't usually keep it in stock. That can be aggravating.  :-\

Thought June 28 was the online rollout date for Petco and Wellness according to PetCo website.
Prices online parallel those of Petfooddirect as far as I can see, with no offer of 12.5 oz cans.
