I watched the one with the squirrel...what a beautiful cat!

August

Oh, what a cutie!  She looks very active and happy.   :D   That's so sweet how she reaches out to you for scritches and kisses.   :-*

Happy belated birthday, Nostalgia!

That squirrel should at least pretend to be afraid ! ;) And yes I think she is bigger.

She's sooo cute - and it's too funny how the squirrel knows she can't get thru the window but she doesn't

Beautiful little bigger Nostalgia.  :D

VERY pretty kitty and active..

Thank you all so much! I think she got a little bigger too. But she seems to be done growing - she has her adult face, I think, a little more foxy than it was when I adopted her. Still the cutest face I've ever seen. :-* She loves to groom my arms and hands, which is made much easier by the new arrangement of my desk:

And of course she has to help with my homework!

Unfortunately I can't make any more videos. The power button on the camcorder broke. >:( It was a bad camera anyway, but now all I have for picture-taking is my webcam. Oh well!

I've been having some issues with her poo - it seems like it's a bit too firm for her to be comfortable, so I started adding sweet potato baby food to her canned food. That helped a lot, but she still ends up with little bits of poo glued on to her skin. She does clean herself, but not well enough to get the poo off. :P Aside from baby wipes (all natural of course, I spoil her rotten) is there anything else I can do to help with this without bulking up her diet? She already eats so little and is pretty bony. When I talked to the vet about diet the first thing she did was recommend prescription dry foods... no, I don't think so! :P

Oh my goodness I almost forgot to mention her walks! I've been working with getting her used to a harness since the very first week, and I'm so glad I started that early. We've ventured outside on the leash a few times now, and she's getting over the initial terror (nothing dramatic, just too much excitement) and actually walking around now. She went with me to refill the bird feeder the other day - a 30 second walk turned into a 30 minute walk, but it was wonderful! The sparrows and squirrels here are fearless, and they didn't care that she was right there stalking them. She actually took a leap at a bird that flew just a few feet away from us. I don't know that I will ever walk her around the block, but time spent in the back yard is good. :D

Best wishes to all of you and your furry families! I'm glad to see that so many of you are doing well, and my utmost sympathies to those who aren't.

That desk perch is just an absolutely perfect kitty spot--a view out the window, a cushy bed, and a human near at hand.  What more could a cat want?

As to the dirty back end--if Nostalgia is a Manx, as we have thought, she will have a little different back-end configuration than the typical cat.  In Manx, the fur grows closer to the anal opening than with most cats, so they are more likely to have this issue with bits of poo sticking to the fur.  If she's got a dense coat, as many Manx do, that adds to the problem.  I deal with the same kinds of things with Cameo Manx.  Besides cleaning with the baby wipes and putting sweet potato in her food, you might try adding something oily (like salmon oil) to her meals as well.  This can help the stool to be less sticky, too.

I'm glad you both had fun on her outdoor-harness walk!

I agree with catbird, try fish or salmon oil. You can cut a human capsule & squeeze it onto the food. Squash or pumkin might help added to the food or some probiotics. You just need to be on baby wipe patrol though. I love the desk addition !

Thank you both! I have a bottle of herring oil that I add a squirt of now and then, I will try to remember to do it more often. She's not fond of the fishy taste but I'm not fond of cleaning her butt! ;D I've been trying to keep an eye out for pumpkin baby food, because if I buy a whole can of pumpkin puree it goes bad before I can use it up, but apparently the pumpkin shortage is still affecting baby food. I'll just save up the little jars and freeze some of the puree, I suppose!

She's actually never had any stuck to her fur, which surprises me. It sticks to the wrinkly skin of her anus and it looks very uncomfortable. And then, of course, she sticks her bunny butt in my face. Thanks, Nostalgia. :P

They all do that ! ;D You can separate the canned pumpkin into the baby food jars & freeze them to keep it from going bad. Most of the stores have canned pumpkin & baby food squash back in stock now.

Vyaavi, I put the pumpkin pure in an ice cube tray, freeze it, then dump the cubes in a baggy.  2 cubes usually lasts about a week, depending on how regularly I'm giving it to 'Bisi.  They seem to stay just this side of frozen, and thaw in about 1/2 hour on the counter.

Your little girl is looking lovely!

Gorgeous kitty! And I agree, great setup for a kitty with two way access between desk and window.

Sandi K

She's a very pretty girl, I love the pic of her on the blankie.  :-*

I love the pictures and hope you get a new video cam soon. If she doesn't like the fish oils, maybe just some hairball remedy now and then?
My little babies, you'll always be in my heart. Mom will see you later. Look after each other, ok?
