How do I get Smoggy to drink more water?

I have had no problems at all with the Drinkwell fountain and Sophs has a LOT of hair...hair, hair, everywhere!

The fountain stopped pumping today so I took it apart and I can see there is hair tangled around the impeller so the filter on this thing doesn't work very well. There isn't any way to get the hair out of the impeller so I'm going to return the fountain and maybe get a drinkwell or build my own. I also pulled out a small piece of what looked like shredded black plastic. Since I shut off the fountain, Smoggy's been getting into the sink and meowing for me to turn it on for him. He's such a spoiled boy!

Well Smoggy has his own 'personal' fountain person to turn on the faucet when he wants his water!

Well, that's too bad.  Maybe you could teach him to turn the faucet on, like MarkT's cat
