Convenia issues (cats and dogs)

JJ good post on the file and yes I lost a cat to Metacam I posted on it a long while ago and have a website on it.

ugh, was just at the vet and they were pushing for an injectable antibiotic and injectable steroid for my convenience. I politely said screw my convenience I would rather pill my cat so that meds can clear his system if he has a bad reaction. Came home and checked here, and sure enough, the shot was convenia that they had been pushing. Glad I went the oral route.  Do vets not know of the troubles being reported with this drug? Regardless, seems common sense not to want a new drug that you do not know how an animal react in the system for that long.
