I lost the whole message I typed out.

Please suggestions.

I bought a bunch of plastic shower curtains but Sammy chews and rips plastic so I have to put something over it.

I am seriously considering throwing out the furniture but I need something to sit and sleep on.

Disposable means less washing, but I've had some (young) cats chew on these.  You can find them in any drugstore - with the people incontinence supplies.

I've used these for older cats (and people).  I got mine from Amazon.  I think they were very nice and soft, for my elderly cat.

I agree with those waterproof covers.  I have three and am able to be washing one, drying another and using another.   ::)

What I do is put on the waterproof bed cover and then I put a thick plastic ribbed sheet on top ... I tried looking on amazon but can't find the type I'm using but I'm talking about a thicker version of something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/ABS-Textured-Plastic-Sheet-Thick/dp/B0002ZPPXK/ref=sr_1_2?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1374981016&sr=1-2&keywords=thick+plastic+sheet

The one I have is very lightweight and can be cut with regular scissors, but is ribbed so it's not that fun to walk on.  I have not had a problem with chewing.  When it's on Mom's bed, Lulu pees in her litterbox.

Have you tried aluminum foil over the plastic ? Some cats hate the feel & sound of it, but some play with it so try a small piece 1st ! With Remy & Punkin I did the washable waterproof covers & covered those with the pet sofa protectors . With Trooper & Fragile I used the jumbo puppy pads, because they couldn't get up on furniture anymore . Also look for citrus scented fabric freshener or pet odor remover, they don't like orange usually .
