I am sorry for your cat's diagnosis. I have no experience with this, but I hope you'll find some way to extend quality time he has left.

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty, sofia.  :(  I don't have any experience with this, but I will be thinking and praying for your kitty.

I'm so sorry to hear this Sofia. I hope his treatment will make him feel better and you have many good days with him.

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts.  Thanks JustMe for the Yahoo group info.

He's having abdominal fluid buildup now and we've been taking him in to have it removed.  He is his normal self - appetite and everything.  I want so much for something to be able to do for him - are we just waiting until he looks as though he feels sick?.  None of the vets even think the drug would be beneficial at this point.  I don't understand why they couldn't remove the tumor from his bladder and remove affected lymph nodes, though they say this isn't possible.  We're so frustrated.

Continued prayers going your way from here. I am sorry that he has been having fluid buildup. It is good  though that appetite is normal and he is feeling ok and having no pain..
Many ((hugs))

Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for lots of good quality time together.

It may be their experience that any cutting into the tumor just makes it spread more quickly . Have they tried prednisolone to slow it ? Hoping for many more days of good quality time for you .

Sofia, I am so sorry to hear about this diagnosis. I too send hopes for as much quality time as possible.

Oh my Sophia, I am so terribly sorry about all your losses, just heartbreaking.  And now this bladder cancer.  I would listen to the warnings about the medication and I know how difficult it is to try and know what to do.  I am sending all my positive thoughts and prayers for your kitty.
My Blackie is taking Depo  (a steroid with a long name I can't think of at this time) and it seems to be helpful to her. She is still hanging in there with it, and we get her next shot Wednesday, every 4 weeks.

Again, all my prayers for your kitty and I hope you can find something to keep him comfortable and with you for a long time still.

Sofia

BW - I'm glad something is helping Blackie and hope she has a lot more time with you.  How did you find out something was wrong?  There was no change in behavior in our cat until there was nothing to be done about it.

Our kitty went over the bridge this past weekend, as follow-up ultrasound showed more tumors and lymph nodes affected.  The fluid kept coming back, he stopped eating, got weak.

Thanks everybody for your support through this.  This has been a really rough year for us.
