Took her to the vet today and told them my cat looses her balance when she wakes
up and moves too quickly then it goes away, she also gets cramps like when she wakes
up, they gave her fluids, a blood test and urine test, everything is normal, she should have
only soft foor on her diet and Pepsid famotidine is the main ingredient, has anyone had this
type of issues before? she does need more water intake and I should add some water to her
soft food.

Hi misty and welcome to the forum. I am sorry your cat is having problems.

The cramps, losing balance, and the Pepcid and wet food diet recommendation sound like they think she may have a kidney problem (common in older cats, unfortunately), but you said her labs were normal?  What you have described sounds very much like the way kidney disease cats can act.

I hope she will feel better soon.

Welcome to Itchmo, Misty.

I can't  answer your question, but maybe someone here can.  What brand of food are you feeding your cat?

misty

She eats Science Diet and seems to be good for tummy, she used to vomit before I mean about 1 year ago...she has been doing well on this type of food...than you very much...

What does your cat do when she wakes up that shows she has cramps? How do u she has cramps? What part of the cats body has the cramps?

Also welcome. Everyone here is very nice and supportive and helpful. Hopefully someone else has so experienced with what your cat is going thru.

Well, I call it cramps, she is lying down, stretches her legs and her front paws spread for a short time and it goes to normal .... she didn't use to do this before....it looks to me like a cramp...

Hi misty,

Could the "cramps" you describe actually be related to the stretching kitty is doing?  Maybe she is a little arthritic?  Or do you mean she is like doubling over as if she is in some sort of pain?  Glad to see her labs are normal.  That is great for her age.
Eventually they will understand,

For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Maybe arthritis, but it goes away, is only when she wakes up and stretches, it is
something new, never seen that before....she doesn't complain about it...but I am concern since
she is sleeping all day, I wish she would come out and walk around the house....I should let her sleep
and wait until 5:00 p.m. that is the time for her dinner....thank you being here....

Is it unusual for her to sleep all day?  Most cats do sleep a lot, particularly as they start to get older.

Welcome Misty ! Have they xrayed her joints or head area ? That would eliminate arthritis & brain tumor. Also is she licking her lips a lot or gagging 1st thing when waking up ? Sometimes as they age they need extra food late at night or pepcid or zantac to keep the stomach settled.

Welcome, Misty. I don't know what is causing the symptom but send hopes that answers can be found for your kitty.
