Rusty always seems to pull the fish or meat out of my home cooking and did it again with my Mackerel Loaf so maybe instead of cooking all this i should just give him the fish/meat by itself? I usually don't give him to much fish, I've heard its not really good for him, but thought a treat would be nice for a change.was doing Canned Wellness and he really loves wellness so I don't know at this point, it's frustrating. The one time he did accept my home cooking i had added hearts to it & I later found out the hearts aren't good for him also.He just dosn't seem to get into the home cooking and I tryed adding kibble Still no just the fish/meat was picked out & eaten.I also bought some clams & a bottle of clam juice it has 70 MG which = 3% of salt is this to much? Thank you ankc

I have one little kitty girl that is a fish freak as well. I had spoken with a holistic vet about my home-cooking. She said that I should avoid larger fish such as tuna, swordfish, etc and stick with small fish such as sardines.  She also said that unsalted wild salmon with the skin and soft bones was acceptable as well. The smaller fish the fish, the less the mercury concentration, as the larger fish eat all the little fish and that is how the mercury becomes concentrated. Her suggestion was 2 or 3 times a month as a whole meal or small amounts 1 or 2 times a week.
