Edgar! I've never seen a cat fill a window like that. What must he look like from the outside, a large rug?

Sophers is very cute, especially with the curls of ear hair.

Our cats are not cooperating for the camera, maybe because it is a little chilly today and they want to sleep. Casey opened his eyes for this photo, then immediately went back to sleep.

Peg,  I didn't realize that the link to edgar winter was your cat, (thought it belonged to someone named Edgar Winter)   :o   and I missed the photo of Gadget altogether.  I get confused by the links.

They are both just gorgeous.  My goodness, you have a bunch of absolutely magnificent long haired cats!  Edgar Winter is really something in that window.  What an armful to hug.   When you decide to comb and brush, you really have a big job, don't you.

Well Casey looks pretty warm & snug there.  Glad he deigned to open  his eyes for the camera!

One old pic of my Max - I took this for the local Cats Protection charity annual photo comp - class "oldies" - he was about 12 here, but had already lost the bottom 'fangs'. (I was so ignorant about cat dental care back then).  The local CPL display all the pics at their annual fete, with prizes for each category - I was surpirsed when I got there to see this one up in the consolationprize section - with the attached sticker!
(he was actually yawning cos he'd just woken up!)

JoMax, is that ever cute! The nicest vampire. I'm sure he would have just nibbled on your neck.
My little babies, you'll always be in my heart. Mom will see you later. Look after each other, ok?

And Eppie's feeling left out lately - although she won't do anything cute for the camera now, like chase-tail & catch-the-drip-from-the-tap - as soons as I rush to grab it she stops.

This was about 10 days ago - before the last of the leaves blew off & it started getting colder -  setting out on the morning patrol:

JoMax, Oh my, what a beautiful photo.  The colors are sooo lovely.  I don't know why, but I didn't realize Eppie was an indoor/outdoor cat.  I really like that photo.
What kind of tree is that, and what kind of pretty red berries??
I love the combo of the color of the leaves with the reddish berries, and the blues in the distance.  Just lovely.
Beautiful Eppie doesn't hurt the photo either!!   :)

I wish I lived in an area where I could let my cats go outside and enjoy themselves.

Nice pix, JoMax. They really don't like it when we're on the computer, do they? Are those crab apples on that tree?

Yes, eppie is an in-out cat.  Although I live in the town, its a residential area - so narrow streets with no through traffic - all the houses have gardens which back each other.  That fence she's on is next door's far fence (the shed is next door), so you can see the gardens are all quite narrow - cos the houses are terraced (14ft wide).  But our end of the street the gardens are 100+ft long - they meet an alleyway which comes out into the next street (which is our bin/bike access).  Other side of the alley are more gardens.  There are about 5-6 regular cats on the patch, plus another 5-6 I see around every couple of weeks, so it seems a pretty cat-friendly environment.

The only reason I restrict her sorties is I worry about some local kids who have been known to graffiti in the alleyway.  Probably being overly paranoid - certainly both cats had free rein when I first moved here (& in the previous houses we lived in the area).  Restrictions started after Max refused to accept he was too old & toothless to fight & lost badly when I was out one afternoon.

Since I lost him I'm more anxious about Eppie - I know I need to let go, and have had 20+years of owning cats free to come & go around this area with no problem.  But I'm very vulnerable right now.  I do need to resolve it before summer,  because her quality of life is compromised - she loves outside so much. She spent a lot of last summer laid up on shed roofs in various gardens - she loves those with overhanging branches she can hide under & watch the world.  She utterly hates being in - just sleeps until she can get out.

At present she's only let out when I'm around & listening out - this time of year its mainly the 10min sortie to check territory (& she hates using the litter) cos its been wet & high winds lately and now the cold weather is finally with us.  So I have a few months to resolve my issues.

Arggh - gone on ages again.  To answer the other question, yes its a crab-apple tree.  That was only 10 days ago - looks bright & autumnal then.  The turn to winter has been late this year, we had some very high winds that week & over the weekend its all suddenly gone bare.

JoMax, I love these latest pictures!  I agree with the others that the picture of Eppie in the garden is very lovely.  (And don't you just love the way they can walk on fences like that?)  And Max as vampire brought a big smile to my face. ;D

JoMax, I love your Eppie walking the fence photo, and Max the vampire kitty.   :)
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

JoMax, I know what you mean about having to resolve issues.  I am the same way about petfood. I am beginning to realize I really do have a problem.

I was so happy to find the tiki cat food, and just now they delivered several more cases, and included in the delivery were two new flavors.
I am finding that I AM AFRAID to open them and give them to the cats!
Now that is too much, I know.  Thought I would wait till someone else said they had fed those new flavors, and then I would have the courage to try them.  I don't mean new to me, I mean new flavors the company has just begun selling.

ON top of that, the man piled them all in my arms, and a case fell down onto the cement.  It smashed a can, juice came running out, so he took that back and then I notice a couple other cans had been badly dented, so he took them back too.
So now here I am inside, examining all the cans, that did NOT drop, and am finding little dents here and there.  So I am now trying to decide how big a dent it serious, and which dents are of no consequence, so I should go ahead and feed from those cans.

I think I am very vulnerable now too.  I feel I am becoming catfood phobic!! :-\    And I MUST resolve that issue.  It's only been two months since I lost my BArkley, and so maybe this is related to my grieving. I think I should be fine now, but.....

It sounds like you live in a lovely neighborhood, and my goodness it does sound like your Eppie has a wonderful time outside.
I think the precautions you take are very wise though.  I think Eppie is a lucky cat.
Yes, it is wonderful the way they can walk on fences!! :)
Mine jump way up and walk along the vertical blind valance!

Peg great pics - I just love that your babies are so big. Like minature's of the big cats.

Sandi in that one pic of Sophers playing tug with her dad, noticed the 'smiley face' on the bottom of the bag on the stool under the other stuff. She is a beautiful baby.

JoMax so you have your own lil dracula, how sweet. Eppie's coloring really stands out with the background you took the pic in, nice.
May your troubles be less,
Your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness
