JM, you and Smokey are in my thoughts and prayers.  What day this week is the ultrasound scheduled for? I can imagine how scarey this all is and with just losing Twit on top of it. Im sure its very hard to see her breathing rapidly, it would be scarey Im sure. I hope the vet can get this figured out, please let us know how it all goes.

Positive thoughts and prayers for Smokey and you. Hopefully its all this damp causing a problem and not her heart.

Thanks all.  She started on her medications today.  She seems a little more comfortable this afternoon, better than when she was coughing this morning.

We haven't seen any mosquitoes here yet, so I don't know about heartworms.  Wouldn't they show up on the chest x-ray?  Not really sure.  She has not been outdoors since last fall, except for a few minutes on the deck last month...no insects around then.  I hope they can figure out what it is when the look at her heart function this week.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Heartworms in cats is not like what you see in dogs where there are tons of worms. Usually they only get one or two, but it's when they die that cats show symptoms like in Pip and Smokey. My vet said they wouldn't see them on x-ray but echo might, depending on where they were. I hope whatever is going on is short-lived and not permanent.
My little babies, you'll always be in my heart. Mom will see you later. Look after each other, ok?

Prayers and postive thoughts for you and Smokey.

Are not heartworms detected by a blood test? JM do not think you need to worry about those as far as Smokey is concerned. Maybe a touch of allergies or asthma causing the rapid breathing?
May your troubles be less,
Your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door

Sending good thoughts to Justme and Smokey, who's having her echo today.

Good luck Smokey. I hope you get some answers from the echo, JM.

Same here, praying you will get answers you need and that it will be good news.
