Smokey had her recheck yesterday and is doing well!  Vet could no longer hear "noise" in her lungs and her heart sounds good.  She's currently on a tapering dose of prednisolone and we will monitor her once she finishes that dose to see if there is any recurrence of her "asthma".  Vet thinks it may be seasonal since her last episode was in November a few years ago.  She will get another echocardiogram in a year so we can monitor her heart.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Very good news ! This year has been very bad allergy wise already so that may be it.

Great news!  I know my allergies have really been bothering me.

Oh that is good news!  KiKi had seasonal asthma attacks too and she had to have steroid shots.  It usually only took one shot to get it under control for the season.  I think she went through that about 3 seasons in a row and then it finally just stopped, thankfully.  Im so glad to hear Smokey is doing better!

Amazing that there are such seasonal allergies in cats like that!

I'm glad to hear that you got such good news for Smokey.  That must be such a relief for you.

I'm pleased to hear that Smokey's problems are likely brought on by allergies, not something more serious.  It's shaping up as a bad allergy year here, too--Cameo (also allergic/mildly asthmatic) has very watery eyes any time the windows have been open, and I'm having more symptoms, as well.

Great news about Smokey, JustMe. I heard on the news that this was a record pollen year, nationwide throughout the US. It's been affecting us, too. I'm very happy to hear that Smokey is doing so much better!

Awesome news about Smokey JustMe.

I am sympathetic to the allergies.
Pollen is horrible here and I am day 4 of a headache and eyes that look like I spent time in a boxing ring.......

Oh, this is great news for Smokey!  I hope the pred helped her through the worst of it and it continues to improve once she's off it.

I'm glad Smokey is feeling better! I had to run some errands today and my car was covered in pollen! Definitely sneeze season!

Great news about Smokey!  Yes, it is a bad allergy season right now.  Pollen counts very high.

Awww, that's great. I hope everything turns out fine when she's totally off the pred.
My little babies, you'll always be in my heart. Mom will see you later. Look after each other, ok?
