Hope your remaining time with Socks is special for both of you.

Judy, Im glad to hear your vet say she isnt giving up on her, that helps alot to know the vet wants to continue to try to help.  Did your vet come up with something more to try that might help Socks?  Im glad she is home with you.  Im still hoping they can get her to feeling better.  Lots of hugs to you and Socks.

Judy, I'm very glad to hear that Socks has more time to spend with you!  That is very good news.  And it's awesome to hear that she's eating a little bit on her own.

I'm very happy for both you and Socks, Judy.  Glad she's eating more.   :-*
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

I forgot to say she took Socks out back to have the eye doc take a look and she said her sewn shut eye is not painful or infected and that's when I knew for sure the time was not right.  Julie had talked about taking her eye out and I didn't want to do any surgery.

Even if I have to feed her for the rest of our time I can do that as long as she is not suffering at all.  She has not lost any weight which was strange since she is not getting much food.  When we got to the vet I noticed her head was bobbing again and when we got home  I had to help her out of the carrier.  Something about being in there affects her, it only lasts for a short time 5-10 minutes but it never happened before the eye surgery.

Very happy to read that Socks is home with you and eating more!

Excellent news about the eye, too, that there is no pain or infection.

I am so happy that Socks is home with you Judy and she is eating a bit more.   :D
I like cream cheese and bagels.  Socks likes cream cheese and kibble.....that's the kitty version.  :)

I'm also glad her eye had no infection and is not causing her pain.

Judy, my Rikers kitty used to have a head bobbing issue in my old vet's office.  It never happened with any other places I took her to.  My old vet figured out she was having a negative reaction the the chemical the staff used to clean the counters between kitty patients.  Turns out they were using this stuff full strength instead of a 10:1 dilution.  My old vet never even put a towel on the counter for the kitties to sit on so they were sitting directly on a counter that had this full strength disinfectant.

My vet now uses the same disinfectant at the proper dilution and kitties get towels that match their eyes or their fur coats.  Rikers has not had the problem again.  I think the stuff is called Rocal.

Prayers, positive energy and all best wishes will continue from our house to yours.

I am so glad Socks is still with you ! Her time may be limitwed, but as long as it is good quality time thats all that counts. No weight loss is a very good thing even with limited diet. And tha fact that there is no infection in her sewn shut eye is great ! I wouldn't do the removal; surgery either at this point, just let Socks enjoy the time she has left with you.

I'm so glad to read that Socks is not in any pain and that she is eating a little.

Maybe being in the carrier with only one eye caused her to feel a bit disorientated because of the small space and the movement of riding. She may be sensing a 'lop-sided feeling' or something similar because she can only see out of one eye. That's just an idea that has no basis in solid fact. It just popped into my mind as I read your post.

Nice to hear that Socks is eating again. Also thought of same thing as Caylee with only vision in one eye might be throwing off her center of balance being inside a carrier and the movement of the car.
May your troubles be less,
Your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door

Thanks for your thoughts on the head bobbing.  Peg it has to do with being in the carrier I am sure it happened in the waiting room.  I don't know if it's the one eye thing but I'm glad it only lasts a short time.

Thank you all for being here for me.
